Structured data should describe visible content

Markup cannot replace an accurate service description or create an offer that does not exist.

Special appearance is not automatic

Google's restrictions on FAQ appearances illustrate that valid markup does not automatically produce a special search result.

Our recommendation is to correct guest-readable information first, then check whether machine-readable data says the same thing. Differences in price, address or service name are more than technical details.

Review with editors and developers

  • Do both layers identify the same business and place?
  • Is the stated offer actually available?
  • Does markup follow content changes?

Record technical validity and factual accuracy separately. A clean validation result cannot tell you whether the restaurant really opens on Sundays. Good data work checks both sides.
