The role of retrieval
RAG research connected external document retrieval with text generation. Not every modern AI service works exactly like that research system.
In tourism, record whether citations point to your website, a partner page or an old listing. A citation alone does not establish that the source supports the specific claim.
Build a simple source map
- Which page is associated with each claim?
- Are the page and its information current?
- Can you correct it yourself, or is external coordination needed?
Address factual contradictions first. External sources are not automatically problems: they can provide accurate, useful, independent confirmation. Aim for traceable information, not exclusive citation of your own website.
