Digital profiles need an owner too

Even a polished place profile becomes outdated when nobody maintains it after a change.

Access is an operational issue

Apple's Business Connect announcement described business-managed place information. Keeping it current still requires an ongoing operating process.

When an employee leaves, access to a profile can become unclear. Updating a phone number or seasonal hours may then stall even though the team knows the correct information.

Maintain a transferable record

  • Which organization manages the profile?
  • Who can edit it, and who checks changes?
  • Which events trigger an update?

Do not store passwords in a shared content-planning sheet. Use the platform's access-management features and your organization's secure process.

Define a working state

Run a harmless information check with the named owner. The aim is not to create another profile. It is to establish that the existing information can be updated and verified when needed, without relying on one former employee's personal knowledge.
