Dog-friendly: where, and under which conditions?

A dog-friendly label does not explain where guests may take their dogs.

The value of specific place information

Google Maps' 2022 announcement describes displaying concrete place attributes. Our editorial takeaway is to name the conditions guests need for a decision.

A restaurant may have different rules for its terrace and indoor area. At accommodation, room type, fees and advance arrangements can matter.

Explain before booking

  • Which areas does the policy cover?
  • Must guests notify you in advance?
  • Which fees and conditions apply?

Publish the same current policy on your website and managed listings. If availability requires confirmation, say so explicitly.
