Make the identity unambiguous
A guesthouse may change its name while an old name remains on maps or regional listings. Guests can then be unsure whether both descriptions refer to the same entrance. Resolve that uncertainty before adding more promotional copy.
Google's 2023 Organization announcement supports more detailed organizational information. Markup cannot automatically repair contradictory public records.
Build a place information sheet
- Record the trading name, address, telephone number and official website.
- Separate the postal address from the guest entrance where necessary.
- Explain the relationship between old and new names after a rename.
Share the sheet with the people responsible for your website, maps and tourism listings. Do not create another profile simply because an existing one is inaccurate. First establish whether it represents the same place and how it can be managed.
Keep evidence of the repair
Record the corrected links and the date checked. Completion means that guests find the same place and contact information across the important surfaces. It does not mean every external copy has refreshed instantly or that an AI recommendation is assured.
